KEEP YOUR AC
FIT & READY
Regular AC maintenance is not just about cleaning. Filters, coils, drainage, airflow, electrical components, outdoor unit, and overall cooling performance should be checked, as identifying problems at an early stage is also important.
WHY IS AC MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT?
Instead of waiting for an AC problem to occur, regular inspection and maintenance can help identify developing issues at an early stage.
Better Airflow
Clean filters, the blower, and cooling surfaces help maintain proper airflow.
Cooling Check
Regular performance testing can help identify weak cooling or abnormal operation at an early stage.
Drainage Care
Checking the condition of the drain pipe and tray can reduce the risk of blockage and water leakage.
Early Fault Detection
Loose electrical connections, unusual noise, fan problems or other developing faults can be identified early.
WHAT IS CHECKED DURING AC MAINTENANCE?
The scope of maintenance can vary depending on the AC condition, model, and service requirements.

- Air filter condition
- Filter cleaning
- Indoor coil inspection
- Evaporator coil cleaning if required
- Blower condition
- Airflow check
- Drain tray inspection

- Unusual sound check
Outdoor Unit
- Condenser coil condition
- Outdoor coil cleaning if required
- Fan blade inspection
- Outdoor fan operation
- Compressor operation
- Compressor mounting
- Vibration check
- Outdoor unit obstruction
- Cabinet condition
- Unusual noise check
Electrical & Controls
- Electrical connections
- Terminal tightness
- Visible wiring condition
- Capacitor condition
- Contactor/relay where applicable
- PCB visual inspection
- Sensor/thermistor check
- Remote functions
- Startup/shutdown operation
- Abnormal electrical symptoms
Cooling & Drainage

- Drain water flow
- Drain blockage check
- Ice formation check
- Pipe insulation condition
- Refrigerant-related symptoms
- Leakage signs
- Final performance test
HOW DOES A TECHNICIAN PERFORM AC MAINTENANCE?
During proper maintenance, the technician first assesses the condition, then performs the required cleaning/checks, and finally tests the system.
Initial Inspection
The AC's age, condition, previous issues, cooling, airflow, noise, and leakage are observed.
Cleaning & Drainage
Required filters, coil, blower, drain tray, and drainage system are cleaned/checked.
Outdoor Inspection
Condenser, fan, compressor mounting, airflow, noise, and outdoor unit condition are checked.
Technical Checks
Electrical connections, operating behaviour, and refrigeration-related symptoms may be checked.
Final Testing
The AC is run to verify cooling, airflow, drainage, noise and overall operation again.
WHICH PROBLEMS CAN MAINTENANCE HELP IDENTIFY EARLY?
An important benefit of maintenance is that the technician can identify abnormal symptoms before they become a major failure and address them early.
Weak Airflow
If airflow is reduced because of a dirty filter, blower, or coil, it can be identified during inspection.
Water Leakage
By checking the drain tray, drain pipe, and water flow, developing drainage problems can be identified.
Abnormal Noise
Fan, blower, mounting, vibration ya other mechanical symptoms can be investigated at an early stage.
Electrical Issues
Loose connections, capacitor symptoms, relay/contactor issues or visible wiring abnormalities can be checked.
Coil & Condenser Dirt
Accumulated dirt on indoor and outdoor heat-transfer surfaces can affect airflow and heat transfer.
Cooling Abnormality
By observing unusual changes in cooling performance, the need for further diagnosis can be identified.
WHEN SHOULD AC MAINTENANCE BE DONE?
The exact frequency depends on usage, dust, environment, AC condition, and manufacturer recommendations.
March – April
Before peak summer, it is practical to have a complete inspection, cleaning, drainage, and performance check.
During Summer
If the AC is running for long hours every day, regularly monitor the filter and airflow, and have maintenance/service performed when symptoms appear.
Post-Summer
After heavy summer usage, cleaning and inspection can help identify dust, drainage, and developing problems at an early stage.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AC SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
Both terms are commonly used interchangeably, but it is useful for customers to understand that their practical focus is different.
| POINT | AC SERVICE | AC MAINTENANCE |
|---|---|---|
| Main Purpose | Cleaning & servicing | Preventive care & inspection |
| Filter Cleaning | Yes | Yes |
| Coil Cleaning | As per service type | As required |
| Drainage Check | Yes | Yes |
| Electrical Inspection | Basic | More detailed |
| Performance Check | Yes | Yes |
| Early Fault Detection | Limited | Important focus |
| Major Repair | Separate | Separate |
WHAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AC MAINTENANCE?
The actual scope of maintenance can be determined based on the AC condition and required work required.

SIGNS YOU SHOULD NOT IGNORE
The need for maintenance can often be identified from small changes in the AC's behaviour .
Cooling Is Not What It Used To Be
The room is taking unusually long to cool or the cooling has become noticeably weak.
Airflow Has Decreased
Airflow from the indoor unit is weaker than before.
Water Is Dripping
Water leakage or unusual dripping from the indoor unit is being noticed.
Ice Is Visible
Abnormal ice formation on the indoor coil or copper pipe should not be ignored.
Unusual Noise
Unusual sound/vibration is coming from the fan, blower, outdoor unit, or compressor area.
AC Is Tripping Repeatedly
Repeated electrical trips or abnormal startup should be diagnosed by a technician.
MAINTENANCE DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN GAS FILLING
During routine AC maintenance, refrigerant-related symptoms can be checked, but simply because it is maintenance does not mean gas should be added without diagnosis. In a properly sealed AC system, refrigerant does not normally simply “run out.” If low refrigerant is suspected, the leak and system condition should be properly diagnosed.
